I find a bi-di to be a very divisive issue. You either love them or despise them, and not much in between.

We have a 276 with 18,000 hours and a 150 with 19,600 hours. Neither is leaving anytime soon. They are not a wheel loader, but compared to a 928G they are way more nimble and handier for setting up panels, and other light loader work.

Other than the transmission and drop boxes nothing is proprietary on these units. I’ve only needed two gears and a couple axle shafts from the wreckers. All the other parts can be found off the shelf.

At 7k hours probably the major things to check are loader pins and bushings, engine end axle cradle pivot bearings, and the articulation and steering bearings. None of these are much $ to replace but mostly labour. The spherical bearings on the articulation, steering and axle pivots are available through any good bearing shop.

They can run either ATF or THG for hydraulic/hydrostatic oil and the ATF is definitely better in the cold weather.

They work good on an auger and we pulled a 800 cu ft feed wagon with the 276 for several years. When it’s chained up on all 4 wheels there isn’t much it can’t get through. We have a 22’ draper header for the 276 and it works awesome when it’s muddy out and in the hills. I see them on snowblowers lots but never have run one.

I could get by without a bi-di but they will always have a place here.
