Northeast Nebraska | Pretty much agree wit what everyone else has said. I think it’s like every other machine. Can get a good one and a bad one. We’ve had a TV-140 for about 15 years and was good until year 10 when we had to overhaul it. Been causing us issues ever since. I would love to get rid of the headache and money pit but we’ve stuck enough into it and it’s hard to replace (for the $) what that thing all does. Don’t use it like a wheel loader because you will crack hubs... don’t ask, on our third!
We also have a Deere 544J wheel loader and a tractor loaded. I by far love the wheel loader but my dad prefers the bidirectional. Each has its place. Wheel loader is obviously more durable and and can handle way more but the bidirectional has a higher and longer reach. We also use ours to cut hay which is a big reason we won’t get rid of it. And bidirectional is 10x better than conventional tractor and loader.
Id say ideally get both. But more practical the bidirectional is probably going to do more for the money.
