Has been a bidi on the place for over 30 years and I can’t wait to trade it off for a wheel loader. Started with a 276 and now have a 98 model 9030. They’re going to disappoint you in the road speed department, 16mph would be full out, down hill, 70mph tailwind, with 14 bales on a stack mover pushing. As others mentioned you put in hydraulic oil and check the diesel before starting it.

But if you’re not afraid of wrenching on equipment this is the tractor for you. Most parts are reasonably priced, it’s the shop labor that kills a guy. For example there is a torsional dampener that needs to be replaced every couple thousand hours. $250 piece that takes $4750 labor to remove the engine and bolt in...

As for the creeping forward/backward, there is a pretty simple procedure to set the hydrostat. Two big “nuts” I guess you’d call them? Are tightened or loosened with the tires off the ground with the stick in neutral until they quit creeping. It’s basically setting spring pressure on swashplate I believe. There’s a park brake there too that can sure be utilized when you want to make sure it doesn’t creep away from you.

Was told back in 95 to run them at 2000rpms or the hydro pump would starve and go out prematurely. Not sure if there’s any truth to it or not but we ran ours wide open when moving manure or doing loader work and the current one has north of 9000hrs with original pump.

Hope you find a tractor that works for you.
