Dayton, IA | I would give them a good hourly pay. Unless you are going to let them come to every meeting with the vet, banker, feed guy, make changes to buildings, pens, water, to their liking, they aren’t really a partner. Don’t make them risk getting paid a good wage for their time on cattle they can’t really control. Just pay them enough for their time that they will do a good job. If they don’t do a good job then either pay is off or they can’t do a good job at any price. I think after working with them for a short while you will know which category they fit into. | |
