McCanna, ND | You can stick a bar in the clevis of the brake can rod where it pins to the slack adjuster and pry it out to see how much the rod has to travel before the pads make contact with the drum. I set them up to be at least 1” but less then 1.5”. It’s also a good way to see if you have bad auto slacks, get them all adjusted to the same stroke then check them several days later to see if they are still the same, if they aren’t the slack adjusters are shot. | |
