South Central Illinois | Nitroglycerin was used from 1847 to 1867.
Probably the Pacific railroad was built only with nitroglycerin.
In 1867 it was mixed with soil as a stabilizer.
Thus dynamite was invented.
I think that the mountain sections were already completed at this time.
TNT was discovered in 1863,
It made a really great yellow dye.
It took 30 years to discover that it could explode. | |
