sw ontario | Lots of hard work then , when Canada built there western rail lines they imported a lot of Chinese labor ....story goes blowing tunnels through the mountains afew were always getting killed but didn't concern anybody as the were only "chinese".......on the flat lands here it looks like they dug ditches for drainage on both sides on RR tracks and used that dirt.....
fwiw around 30 yrs. ago all the smaller rail lines for grains/produce have been abandoned | |
