Kettle Moraine, WI | The fact most refrigerated and frozen items are located in back or far side of grocery stores to drive store traffic to high margin items only extends the time it sits in our cart at room temperature, is placed on conveyor at room temperature, scanned, taken and placed into overheated vehicle, driven minutes at those temperatures, and then waits while items are placed in proper location in our kitchen before allowed to cool back down to safe temperatures. I am amazed what food lasts to best by date while manhandling as designed by the grocery system.
Know why some stores mist the fruits and vegetables? Make them look fresher to the ye and rot quicker. | |
