With tight tolerances on newer fuel systems there is no margin for error with regard to dirt in the system. Pre filling the fuel filter puts unfiltered fuel into the system which can cause an injector to fail which can cause an engine failure. Follow the directions for changing fuel filters and restarting. They work amazingly well.
