Certainly it's possible to log and graze remote areas. Just need a few roads, in fact a lot of roads are already in place. However government in their fine wisdom has closed the roads to travel. Then they took it one step further and put a lot of forests and desert areas into wilderness areas you can't even run a chain saw in. Logging can be done with helicopters as well.
There’s a forested part of New Mexico, once open to the public , that a friend and his wife enjoyed camping at and taking long walks down trails. The entire area was later fenced off and closed to where it would be a federal offense if you were caught on it. He never did find out what the real reason was to keep the public out. |
