Pittsburg, Kansas

Thanks for the charts and information you have brought forth.

These discussions remind me of my x-wife. She did nearly all of her reasoning based on emotions. I could make a very logical case for anything and it would pass right through her with nearly zero effect. If I wanted to reason with her it had to involve her emotions. She did not have a logical bone in her body.

I see this same thing play out daily in the general population. All of us I believe use both logic and emotion to make our decisions. But on a spectrum some tend to fall more on the logical side and some lean more toward the emotional side. The decision making process seems to be focused differently in individuals. It is also my experience that this is built in to a person. I do not know if it is learned or genetic but it seems a person does not change this natural characteristic.

For logical leaning people it is very frustrating trying to reason with an emotional leaning person. And an emotional leaning person tends to look at a more logical leaning person as being cold or uncaring.

I don't see this ever changing. From my perspective we will always have this struggle. Me being a person that leans towards logic (with plenty of emotional baggage also) I can only hope there is enough of us logical leaning thinkers to prevail in making decisions that make sense instead of decisions that feel good.

John
