My beans lagged all year and they got clobbered. Still alive down low but the crap that froze on top is going to make for a 25 bushel crop mess I’m guessing.
Last year I had a few fields(late June/July planted) that were still green late Oct/Nov that got frosted on top and alive down low like you described. Those things took forever to be ready to harvest. Top beans dry but the bottoms were green, then rubbery for weeks. Never did really mature properly and were hard to thresh out the lower beans.
