North Central Illinois | Your cost is out of line for starters. You should be able to get it done for $20 an acre. Not every hybrid responds well to fungicide either. So depending on what hybrids you grow you might not see the response that is going to make it pay. It is hard to put a price on plant health and standability put fungicide helps with that. With what I call racehorse hybrids on good well drained dirt we typically see a 20 to 30 bushel per acre yield bump. Now if you are using a more defensive hybrid on some lighter dirt the yield response is going to be pretty minimal. | |
