And as Jodi said in the morning, a knife/shank in the spring is death to the strip.
Each have their place and all do what they are designed to do, and do it well, in the conditions they were designed for. There is a flavor basically for everyone. Just depends how much a grower is willing to mess with.
I was particularly intrigued by the OM map of the US that Jodi shared yesterday. Our little "pocket" in this area equaled the type of soil down through the middle of Ia. But 200 miles further south, give's them a bit more drying time in the spring. Our window for optimum conditions is wayyyyyyy smaller both in the fall and the spring. And sometimes that window is made of "no seeum glass".... LOL | |
