NE Nebraska | They cater to the lower & middle class who need the cheap version of supplies (diapers, briefs,paper products, craft items, pet foods), and who like the basic, non-healthy food (cheap canned goods, soda, frozen pizza) and who reward themselves regularly with the simple inexpensive revolving tchotchkes to adorn their house. So I'd say it's a combination of gross sales & markup.
We have two Dollar Stores each about 10 miles away. One has a dedicated parking lot, the other sits on a street corner and it's a challenge for people to find parking. I try to avoid the places. | |
