Well that’s the bad thing about the internet

I posted this to show that there are opportunities, unfortunately the Best opportunity for profit lies some where else right now.

I meant to show that the headlines in other parts of the world are not negative.

All my friends that farm are row crop farmers, I talk to several of them every week or more. Generally we talk about what needs to be done to make a profit, on their Farm , as well as mine. Most of the people I talk to have a second job to subsidize the farm.

I am not cheering the prices lower, I want them to go up, as in most cases rising tides raise all ships. It stabilizes our industry, credit becomes easier. Small town become more vigorous.

The best price and easiest year to sell hay for me was 2012, hay markets don’t necessarily follow the board prices but they in general follow. Unfortunately many small beef and dairy have disappeared around here the last couple years. The demand is slowly switching through the years from an ag based business to a recreational based business. People with horses, a few sheep or goats or what ever they want to have for pets want to buy hay, but they want specific types much more so than beef producers.

Hopefully our headlines will change and have a more positive tone in the near future.
