For a little kid like I was,, it was both boring as all gitout,, and interesting. Folks had their choice of 3-4 tin sizes depending on what they were canning. What I recall too was going down into the basment and seeing 'mountains of shinny silver cans all full of food. I doubt there is a cannery for homemakers at all in the U.S. In it's time the cannery was a very busy place, and was well used. |
