Central iowa | Have you googled it or surched remain on this site for issues???? you first start that reman and you can tell the injectors/ fuel pump not right because it smokes out exhaust excessively... Newer tractors for reman fine.. Older tractors with 7.6, 10.1 era or older- good luck, WILL be having warranty work done... Have dealer install engine if do reman... Parts and labor will be covered and tell them if engine goes down, you get a free rental tractor...there reman Fuel systems are junk, machining is sketchy...May have rented tractor more than yours out of shop...I know of 1 4850 that is on its 3rd is reman, 1 put first 1 in at dealer, was getting #2 when I left. Had a 4450 that I pushed guy not to get a reman but did anyway( ended up having a fuel transfer pump and split it ( dowl pin leaked trans oil into engine) before 100 hours on engine- If Puting a Combine engine, need to know if tractor is crank or cam driven oil Pump... Crank driven pumps have different pickup tubes. If its a quad range, there is a bushing in rear of crank that needs to be installed.. I'd look into a used cbine engine myself...mite need new lower bearings also since be changing pump/ oil pan.. I wouldn't go with Abilene machine, seen many machining issues with them in the past
