Good responses here. Combine engine is a great choice. Only the end past the turbo for exhaust, the valve cover, oil pan and oil pump pick up. Front and rear oil seal and water pump are good ideas. Injector pump from your tractor will work but rebuild and injectors wouldn't be a bad idea. The switch isn't a bad job, especially if you have an overhead hoist or a forklift. The rebuild will take about $4000 for sure. Check out your current engine as it isn't common for them to lock up. Bearings will likely show little wear even with 12000 hours. If you buy a combine engine, make sure it has been run recently. The one I bought had sat too long and wrecked hole by breaking the oil ring.
