Northern Illinois | I have read that people with diabetes are at higher risk of covid 19 due to a weaken system. Are the real world numbers bearing this out? Reason I am asking is because I suspect that many diabetes people are on Metformin. Metformin has been identified as one of the medicines that binds to a protein that is needed for the coronavirus to multiply. Are diabetes patients in the US who may be on Metformin suffering the complications from coronavirus that have been predicted?
