| Our son started a vineyard 3 years ago and has 1 1/2 acres planted now. His goal is to end up with 5 acres. We are in Wisconsin so it may be different in OK, but here most winery's can't grow enough grapes to satisfy their needs. The trick is to grow the grapes they want.
It has to be a labor of love though. there is a lot of hand labor involved in growing grapes. The good thing is that there are a lot of people that like to drink wine and think that it is fun to help plant, prune and pick grapes. If you make some wine yourself and give a bottle for labor, it is easy to get help.
Ryan is on vacation now in Colorado, but when he gets back I am sure he would be glad to visit with you as he is the president of the WI grape growers assoc. My email is available and I would be glad to pass it on to him.
