Some of the enthusiasm of Trump supporters for the man was or is predicated on the idea that he is such a savvy and successful businessman. I think that idea is highly debatable but for now we will leave that argument alone. Running the US government and negotiating international trade agreements while definitely businesslike is far different than running a business or corporation. Presumably Mr. Trump is used to negotiating fast deals and bullying his opponents to get what he wants. Again, for the sake of an argument we will let that idea stand for now. Running a big business just isn't the same as running the government and it's affairs. I can see why the idea of a business magnate at the helm is appealing to people. If kind of makes a little sense but in the end it is a very different thing. I think we are seeing just how much different it is by the success or lack thereof that he is having when dealing with leaders of foreign countries. I guess you have to give him credit for trying but I fear he is causing more harm than good. I think our standing with North Korea, China, Russia, and even our allies is worse off than it was in 2016.
