It is a mystery to me why the US has not had a tariff for many years now. The imports are coming anyways tariffs or no tariffs and they don't have any other market to go to. Tariffs are a much preferable way to raise revenue to service government debt over domestic taxation for the US so they are a no brainer. US tariffs are not good for the rest of the world but president Trump is not the president of the rest of the world.
