On imports to the US. Rather have income taxes instead? Actually as it turns out so far very little of the tariff has been paid by US consumers and most has been absorbed by lower returns to the Chinese producer. The Chinese producer has no one else to sell to. That is one of the reason why volumes of imports have not fallen significantly. With debt levels so high, the taxes are inevitable so they might as well come from tariffs. The US benefits from the tariff big time. The Chinese would favor non US beans if possible anyways just to be pricks so the bean tariff is really irrelevant. Look at how much they have invested in SA to increase production down there and they will continue to do that. Bean markets are merely reflecting the general oversupply of Ag commodities around the world. Does it matter to you if you ship to China or Brazil? Just saying
