MN | usually forward 40-60%, spot sell the rest but do carry some over from time to time
usually split the forward up in 5ths and forward sell some by the end of march, more by the end of April, end of May, the 15th of June and end of June. might push those dates up a little more this year. usually for more carry I bin it in the fall, I read about this plan years ago and it seems to work for me and is pretty simple.
I think many different styles work, as long as your consistent. the reason people don't say what they are doing is they sometimes get flamed and ridiculed for selling, the constant bull mentality has cost some a lot of money, the boom is gone and its back to the way farming has always been.
