I say they come in a lot of the grains we have in the kitchen but once you get them in your kitchen or storage area they will invest stuff that's not sealed good. Everyone else has given their recommendation for fixing oatmeal so I will too. Just use the old fashioned rolled oats. I use a microwave pyrex bowl that has tall sides and probably holds a quart. Large tall bowl keeps it from boiling over. I don't really measure anything other than the oats. I have a 1/4 cup measure I heap full and dump in bowl. I then add raisins liberally to the oats and I pour 2% milk in the bowl until it all floats good. I have the microwave preset for my oatmeal. It's something like 6 minutes and 30 seconds at probably 50% power. So all I have to do is push that setting and wait a few minutes. I don't stir it the boiling action takes care of that but being set at 50% it doesn't boil over. I usually let mine sit awhile and coo down before eating. |
