Michigan | I'm proud to be the caretaker of what my Mom and Dad accomplished.I can't believe how hard they worked for us (4 kids). Mom milked over 100 cows 7 days a week for almost 30 yrs, only to have Cancer take her from us at 50 yrs old. Dad is now 84 and continues to show up here at the home farm every morning waiting to put in a full days work. I worked off the farm when I got out of high school, on those beautiful spring days it killed me to be trapped in a building instead of driving a tractor, working ground. I've been farming full time now for over 25 yrs, and been able to live a good life. I've doubled the size of the farm and I really don't feel I've accomplished much yet. I hope to add several hundred acres more to it and basically do it all for my kids, kinda the same thing my folks did. God has been very good to me, even though the stress of farming can at time be overwhelming, I wouldn't give it up for anything else. | |
