Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska | That's different than our area. Our best corn for the last several years was planted last in late May-early June. We think we are avoiding the heat in July with pollination with the shorter days and longer nights in August. We'll keep going with it until it doesn't. :)
We'll start next week because we need about 3 weeks to plant and we can't risk trying to get it in at the "optimal" time if it decides to rain too much. Doesn't usually happen here but it can. |
