EC Mo | I can remember several years that here in Missouri you either planted in April or it took to mid June to dry back out after flooding rains and a wet May. Some years NH3 got put on fields in the spring and then finally planted to beans in late June after raining for 2 months straight. Not uncommon at all to go for a month or more in spring without being able to do any field work at all because of wet weather.Faced with those kinds of scenarios happening in the past most jump at the chance to plant in April here when conditions allow. In fact my worst stands of corn in my farming career have been from May planted corn. Can't control the weather and weather forecasters sure can't predict the weather. Its always a gamble no matter when you plant so you plant when you can and hope for the best. | |
