Subject: Deere not so fuel effecient

West Texas
Nebraska 'concrete' pad is just a wee bit different then out in the real world. Back in the 80's IH was beating Deere big time in the field on fuel economy. Late 80's when Magnums came along they pulled more on less fuel in same hp tractor as Deere. 8000/10 series Deere use less fuel then the 20 series and get more power out of the fuel. Cat MT 745 with 30 hp less then JD 8420 uses less fuel while it pulls same if not more. 25/30 years ago Deutz had Deere beat BIG time on fuel economy and power. Not on hydraulics and ease of use though..... Deer just has never been known for having the most fuel effecient or most powerful engines.
