Economy of scale. A guy collecting truckloads of them and feeding them all at once is way more efficient than you would be raising ~7 a week yourself. He's so efficient he can pay you and the trucking and still come out ahead. He's even so efficient he can pay you more than you would make if you did it yourself.

Maybe. Thats my theory anyway.
