Leesburg, Ohio | Just wrapped up the field day...updated our Outback with new software...takes about 20 min. to load the update from a laptop. The Baseline unit appeared to be 1" to 2" accuracy most of the time. Seemed like our first pass, which was on a pretty good hillside, was off by a foot or more, but the rest of the time was very close, most of the time dead on when coming back in the same tracks. We came back to previous tracks later in the day, and didn't have the drift that we get with the Ezsteer.
Regarding line aquisition, in our experience, the Outback aquires the line much faster than the EZsteer. Don't know about Trimble/AgLeader Autoguide. We have to have the EZsteer dead on to begin with, or it will take maybe 100-200 yards before it will mosey over to the correct line. The Outback will pick up the line when still in the turn, and lock in usually within a few feet. The guys that drove the Raven Smart-trax today in the Rogator said it will aquire the line even faster...just make a bit more than half the turn and let it go. Would have been nice to compare the Greenstar stuff at the same time. Maybe next year.
