Oh I agree that a lot of farmers (maybe the majority?) do something most of the year, depends on the operation. I just sometimes question how demanding some of that work really is, and at times wonder how much of it is really productive or just "busy" work. Obviously there is no right/wrong answer, as it varies so greatly between operations, I just find it intriguing.
