In your example what if dad tells child B that he can't farm not enough room. Go get a job on your own. Does that mean child A gets everything like you say. No all black and white. The bad part is Child B is not being greedy and seeing dollar signs. He feels he was wrongly thrown away , he had no choice other than to leave.



This was not the case. My 2 uncles were asked to help pretty often, they just never showed up. Dad bought ground on his own, which they could have as well but didn't want to. My dad was the middle child so it wasn't that he was first born into it. Everyone lived within 3 miles so distance wasn't a problem either. Believe me, my dad and I both would much rather everyone still be farming together with equal dedication. Many hands make light work.
