| Seems like a crazy plan that you might find in a Tom Clancy novel. There has to be a simple explanation for this, like electrical failure in the communications and the pilots got lost. Flew it blind and lost until it ran out of fuel and its in the ocean, and will probably never be found because they don't really know where to look.
You wouldn't need to go through all this to deliver a nuke. You could put in on a diesel boat, and with enough diesel fuel and GPS technology a novice could pilot it from Iran and park it in the New York Harbor(or any harbor in the world) or drive it right up any river to a inland location with no scrutiny at all. Or pilot it to any quiet boat dock anywhere in the middle of night, transfer the bomb to a panel van and drive it into any city anywhere in the world. This is why nukes in the hands of terrorist groups will be how the next nuke goes off...and its a matter of when and where...not if. | |
