Southwest OK
Safe guard or any of the other white de-wormers will do a better job of cleaning worms up than the "ectin" de-wormers. They won't hang around though so a second dose at ten days or so can really make a difference on extremely wormy cattle. Down side to the white de-wormers is they do nothing for external parasites. For your climate and the kind of cows your buying I would recommend using both types of de-wormer. You'll get all the bugs then and it should only cost a couple more dollars a head. A shot of multi-min would be an excellent idea also if you aren't already using it. Quickest and cheapest way to balance their mineral needs.
