Washington, Kansas & Lincoln, Nebraska
I believe its valve stem seals leaking from what the mechanic found last night . they were supposed to pull the head at 7 a.m. this morning but the shift changed and everything got confused. Then they scheduled things in on top of me and told me it would be Tuesday or Wednesday before got the truck back. They'd put the turbo back on after they saw the leaking cylinders. I can't figure out why on earth they would have done that. After I thought about it a bit I told him I was coming to get the truck and did. I have an independent mechanic friend who works on big trucks. He will get the next chance at it when I get a chance to do it.

On some old gasoline engines one use to be able to put compressed air in a cylinder and change the valve stem seals without pulling the head.

For the one that asked I'm using a good high quality 15W-40 engine oil
