| I have heard to put no more nitrogen than 10 pounds per cec. For the last 5 yrs. i have put all my nitrogen out before planting (28% liquid) under irrigation and dry land some of my cec's are less than 2. i have taken nitrate samples at black layer every year and never run out of nitrogen i dont use any nitrogen stabilizer i put 225 units under irrigation and 160 units for dry land same as other people in the area that split their's. The 10 pounds per cec i heard on ag phd. my question is why can my ground hold the nitrogen or does this disprove conventional wisdom. It's so much easier to put the nitrogen out all at one time and be done without sacrificing yields. | |
