Northwest Ohio | OK - so Skow is talking ratios "inside the plant cells". My question is - How do you get the plant to take in the proper ratio?
Wouldn't it be easier to make sure the plant has evough of every nutrient available in the soil & allow it to "free choice feed"?
I think some people are too hung up on ratios of nutrients to other nutrients in the soil based on your soil test figures.
The only one I think is very important is the calcium to magnesium ratio like Ed talks about & you can spend your farming life time trying to balance those in the soil & never get it done!
The best thing to try to do is to add as much calcium as you can, to off set a magnesium ratio that is too high & binding up your soils. How much to add depends on the size of your wallet! | |
