Subject: RE: Sulfur fertilization options?

NE Iowa
At least all the calculated soil test results always come back close to 35% Mg. Ca falls in the medium range and base sat is around 62%. Would love to be able to apply high Ca lime but none around here. All the local lime is high Mg. Has anyone actually seen the base saturation of Mg go down on soil tests after applying gypsum? I don't doubt that gypsum helps flush Mg but just curious if say a couple ton over 5 years will actually shift the %'s. I like the idea of improving my Ca:Mg ratio with gypsum but I also like the stable N from AMS for no-till. So I'm torn on what would be best.
