I really don't care whether he is experienced or not. Experienced people get hurt everyday. Doing dumb actions. Actions which can be prevented. If he got wrapped up in that belt, it would not be an accident. Because it was preventable. It would be an act of stupidity. Preventable and purely stupid. Period.
Martin, maybe you don't understand the equipment being used here. It is a flat rubber, endless belt with no steel lacing to catch clothing, no pinch points. At worst a person might get some "rug burn" if they were to fall on the moving belt. Obviously if I thought there was any real risk to this practice I would not be doing it. I take bigger risks every time I drive down the highway amongst idiots who think they can exceed the speed limit driving on ice all the while talking on their cell phones.
