Eastern Ontario | A lot of what can be said abot plant health also correlates to human health. Taking a sap test is basically the same as taking a blood test. I plan on sending some samples to the dutchmen this summer. Too often have we seen good ideas but never come around to implement them. I hope to change that. One thing I learned from those 4 days is that my soybean aphids are correlated to a very high nitrate level in the plants. I think we have the NPK down fairly well, but micros are missing and neglected as the sap results revealed.
Not sure if you caught the Solvita presentation or not but I ordered me a kit to do some testing of the soil to see what my microbe levels are. What they didn't mention is that the same test can also test the storability of your grain in the bin. I don't have any issues with beans , but corn was a bigger problem for us when we grew it. I got the meter as well so I can upload the results to an excel worksheet. I just hope I get the time to do all those things.
Nice meeting you there Ed. |
