 Wheatley, Arkansas | Most of the talk in East AR is calling for a lot less cotton, considerably less rice, many more acres of wheat and corn.
We cut our rice in half in 2012 and plan on cutting that in half again for 13. Would probably cut it more except for the fact that some of our poorer drained fields aren't conducive to corn.
Our wheat acres would have been up a lot except for the wetter fall we had here, we planted as much as we could between showers, might still plant a few hundred acres next week if we miss the rain monday.
If nothing changes we will have more early beans and about 50% more corn than last year. | |
