Have you checked to see which of these things have been changed on the 1890? No use complaining about something that had already been fixed on a newer model.

What do you mean by front pin? On the 1890 row units there are 3 grease zirks per row unit. I can't really figure out where else I would put a zirk unless maybe you're talking about somewhere not on the row unit itself?

What happens with the plastic gauge wheel rims? I maybe shouldn't even say this on here, but to get penetration consistently, I always run enough down pressure that I can't turn most of the gauge wheels by hand when I get out of the cab. When drilling in to corn stalks, this has meant putting 3000 pounds of weight on the back of the drill and increasing the down pressure as far as the physical adjustment knob will allow me to which puts the gauge far into the red. I only have 66 acres per 10" row on this drill, but I haven't had problems with the plastic gauge wheels.

The 1890's do have the same rims on the front and the back. Well, at least the new ones do.

I don't know about the rest of your concerns. I have never had to rebuild one of these drills. Our first one was a used one that did not yet have enough acres on it to require a rebuild. Our second one now has only two short seasons on it.
