I agree that one place where strobe lights would save lives is on bicycles. Over the years I shudder at how many times I've seen people in dark clothes riding their bikes (with no lights) on the highway at sundown when visibility is the worst. Maybe if people (including kids) had to check and make sure a strobe light was working then they'd pay more attention to their safety on the highway in other ways as well. Just assuming the vehicle traffic is going to watch out for you is not a good strategy for bicycle riders especially late evenings or early mornings. A bike rider was killed near Winthrop about a week ago, was with a bunch of other kids and must have been distracted as he rode out in front of a semi. Its a very sad thing to happen.
