Saronville NE | Main reason corn wont yeild in notill COC vs tillage. Warmth and trash, to get an even stand it needs to come up even and fast, it cant do that when cold ground is covered with trash, when it has some black dirt to work with it warms the ground up and takes off quicker and more even, I have lost more yield to uneven emergence and growth then any other thing in notill COC. Even if you make a perfect black strip with row cleaners, it never fails the wind will blow that trash back over that strip and then it is slow growth and wont push thru that trash like beans will. Plain and simple corn does not like trash. | |
