Martinsville, Ohio | Tillage is fine, especially if you make more money. That happened in Ohio so long that productivity went down. I can show you fields they are farming subsoil.
The big concept for me is my notill probably loses around a ton of soil per acre but tillage can up that to 10 tons quite easily.
I can build one ton per acre but I can't build 10 tons per year so my precious inventory goes "down the drain" in a hurry.
You don't have to be a brain surgeon to figure out that soil loss is still a huge problelm, though we have made strides.
The streams still run brown here after most rain events.
