It is a no-brainer for us here. A good 30-40% of the years we will have a claim on wheat. Can get the better of the fall price or the harvest price on wheat for not a whole lot more premium. Premiums are very high for the coverage you get of course. But what other business can you insure a profit every year?

This was not always the case. Mult-peril was not that great of a deal until several years ago when they started offering the harvest price option. Lots of old timers here never had any until the FSA programs started requiring. Now I would say the huge majority have insurance.
