70% enterprise here is only 2.90 an acre on corn and 2.10 on beans. 60% is 1.46 an acre for corn and 60% beans are .96. Not sure why a guy wouldn't take a cheap option like this just incase of a disaster like this year???

What would 65-70% pay on a year like this?


Well my entire farm APH is 201. 70%x201 is 140.7. And 140.7x5.68(could be higher if fall price is higher) would be $799 an acre. So for 2.90 an acre I can guarantee I will make $799 even if I raise 0 bushels.

I took 85% coverage and I'm glad I did because the corn here is a disaster.
