North Central Illinois | No, I didn't know diddly about what was coming. I never do. But year in year out I have to assume for purposes of planning that the weather and crop will be at least average. To do otherwise would be foolish and in the long run costly. I agree with your point about how the know it alls should have managed their inputs differently if they were so positive we we were going to have a drought. So, yes, this year MT hit a home run with his call. Better to be lucky than good don't ya know? My point is that to approach every year with the attitude that you can't sell anything because you might have a failure is a recipe for mediocrity at best. Even though MT guessed right on the weather I'm still not sure he put his money where his mouth is. He wouldn't admit to going long on the board and it sounds like he doesn't have a crop to sell. I'm kind of glad I am in the position I am in and not his. | |
